How to Make a Sock stuffed animal using your favorite sock Prints
We all have socks in our house that we don't know what to do with. They might have holes, they may have gotten stretched out or it's even possible that the sock's mate was eaten by the dryer. No matter the case, you don't have to throw those old socks away. Instead, you can turn them into a sock stuffed animal.
At some point in your life, you may have made a sock puppet. Sock stuffed animals are based on the same principal, but they take the cuddliness and cuteness to a whole new level. If you're ready to make a sock stuffed animal using your favorite sock prints without doing any sewing, you'll need to gather these supplies:
- The sock(s) you want to use
- Stuffing or dried rice
- Googly eyes
- Some felt
- A hot-glue gun
After you've gathered your supplies, you can then start the creation process by following these steps:
Step 1: Decide What Type of Stuffed Animal You Want to Make
The first step in creating a sock stuffed animal is to determine what type of animal you want to make. You can choose anything that makes you happy or even make up a critter of your own. Let your imagination run wild!
Step 2: Stuff Half the Sock
After you've determined what type of stuffed animal you're going to make, you'll then want to fill half of the sock with stuffing or dry rice. Stuffing will make your creation soft and cuddly, while dry rice will ensure it stands upright (in case you want to display it on a shelf).
Step 3: Add the Googly Eyes
Once half the sock is filled to your liking, you'll then want to add the googly eyes. You can use the hot glue gun to secure them in place. Wait a few minutes for this to cool and dry.
Step 4: Add More Filling
When the eyes are secure, you can then fill the rest of the sock with stuffing or dry rice until you are satisfied with the shape. Make sure to leave some unstuffed sock at the bottom so that you can seal the opening shut.
Step 5: Glue the Bottom Closed
After adding the right amount of stuffing to make you happy, you'll then take the bottom of the sock and fold it toward the back. Use the glue gun to secure the opening to the back and seal it shut.
Step 6: Decorate Your Animal
Using the felt, you can now cut out ears, a nose and any other body parts or items you want to add to your sock stuffed animal. Again, you can let your imagination run amok and create a critter that makes you smile. You'll use the glue gun to secure those decorations to your stuffed animal.
After adding the decorations to your sock stuffed animal and letting the glue dry and cool, you can then play with your creation-and we hope you have a lot of fun!
